Brass Quintet Concert to Benefit Hospital
A brass quintet, all whom are members of the Syracuse Symphony, will return for the third year to present a
benefit concert for River Hospital at the Church of St. Lawrence, Mill Point, on Sunday, June 25, 2006, at 1:
30 pm. There is no admission fee; a free will offering will be taken to support the Hospital.
The program will include selections from The Syracuse Symphony Brass Quintet: "Jazz - America's Musical
Gift to the World". Members of the group are Guy Piddington, trumpet; George Coble, trumpet; Edwin
Diefes, tuba; Jon Garland, horn; and William Harris, trombone. All are accomplished musicians and have
performed with orchestras from Atlanta to Boston and from Honolulu to Paris.
During its 39-week season, the 75 member Syracuse Symphony orchestra performs for more than 225,000
audience members throughout 193 full orchestra and ensemble concerts in 18 counties throughout New
York State. Founded in 1961, the Syracuse Symphony led by conducting staff of international caliber has
