Group Raises $1,300 for River Hospital Equipment
Residents from Meadow Lane Park, Rte. 12, Alexandria Bay, joined together in August to sell items at a
combined “yard sale” and contributed their total earnings of $1,300 to River Hospital.
The is the second summer that this group revived an old tradition of combining their used and new goods
together for one big sale and wanted to contribute the funds raised to River Hospital. Last year, they also
raised $1,300 which went toward the purchase of the DEXA Scanner for the hospital. This year the funds
will be used to purchase two Blood Pressure Cuffs which are used throughout all departments of the hospital
and Stretcher Scales to be used in the Acute Care and Skilled Nursing Facility.
Organizer, Christa Simons, commented “I am thrilled that we were able to raise the same amount of money
as last year to benefit River Hospital, which is so important to us. When people came to the sale and
realized we were contributing the proceeds to the hospital, they would give a little extra. We were all thrilled
to be a part of this unified contribution and plan to continue this annual event”.
