During the last six amazing years at River Hospital, it has been well known that the hospital’s healthcare staff has given of themselves unselfishly and unconditionally to those they care for each day. The hospital staff has lovingly been referred to as “ River Hospital’s Angels on Earth.”
Four years ago, River Hospital Foundation established the “Miracle on the River” Scholarship Program. This local healthcare scholarship program has addressed critical healthcare personnel shortages by supporting the continued education of selected River Hospital staff as well as providing scholarships to chosen high school seniors from Hammond, Thousand islands, Indian River, Alexandria Bay and LaFargeville Central Schools who are pursuing healthcare careers in college. Over $33,000 has been awarded to River Hospital’s healthcare staff and area seniors since the program began. These scholarships have been possible due to the continued generosity of our communities.
Your donation will ensure that this valuable program will continue to invest in our dedicated hospital staff and our area high school students. This scholarship program helps the hospital retain quality healthcare providers by helping them to pursue advanced degrees and in return the scholarship recipient’s commit their services to the hospital.
