Since 2003 River Hospital Foundation has been able to assist in enhancing the programs
and services of the hospital. Among the recent projects that have been funded wholly or
partially through the Foundation are:
Purchase of a DEXA Scanner
New Physical Therapy Equipment and Other Needed Equipment Throughout the Hospital.
The Miracle on the River Scholarship Program
Operating Room Renovation Project (construction currently underway)
Imminent Purchase of a New Mammography Unit (made possible with funding assistance from Senator Wright's special health care initiatives)
Improvements to Emergency Room Entrance/Waiting Area
Purchase of Hoyer Power Lifts
Purchase of Stretcher Scales
In 2007 River Hospital achieved financial stability
Net patient service revenue has grown from $6.3 million in 2004 to $9.9 million in 2007
Patient encounter volume has increased from 38,229 in 2004 to 47,777 in 2007
In 2007 there were 70 full time equivalent employees on the active payroll. Currently there are 209 employees on the active payroll and of that 150 are fill time equivalent staff. The hospital is one of the largest full time employers
The Foundation employs two full time staff and utilizes many volunteers during the summer months.
New Radiology services along with an R2 Image Checker and Stereotactic Biopsy Machine were made possible through Senator James Wright’s health care initiative.
Free mammography screening for underinsured and uninsured women was funded through Senator Jim Wright and Dealmaker Corporation.
River Hospital Foundation raised over $575,608.00 for the Anthony C. “Tony” Malara Ambulatory Suite and opened its doors on August 31st, 2007.
River Hospital and River Hospital Foundation both obtained grants for the hospital. River Hospital Foundation has transitioned from a start up operation to a stable operating environment.
The Foundation’s current Appeal campaign goal is to raise $350,000 for the Radiology Department. This money will assist in the purchase of a CT Scanner and an X-Ray Imaging Unit.
