Leaving a Legacy
For many people, making a gift through their will, estate planning or a deferred
gift allows them to provide for their heirs, avoid taxes and leave their mark on the
world by making a donation to an organization they care deeply about.
Specifically you can support River Hospital in many ways. A Charitable Bequest
is a provision in your will in the form of a set dollar amount, a percentage of the
estate, or the portion remaining after all other distributions are made. You can
name River Hospital Foundation as the beneficiary of an existing Life Insurance
policy or purchase a new policy and name the Foundation as the owner and
beneficiary. Premium payments many be tax deductible. A Charitable
Remainder Trust places assets in a trust from which you receive income for life.
At death, the remaining principal goes to River Hospital Foundation. With
Charitable Lead Trust assets are placed in a trust for a specified period of time.
Earnings go to River Hospital Foundation for the life of the trust and the principal
goes to your beneficiaries when the trust terminates. Securities and Property
Gifts of stock or real estate may provide tax savings while creating a substantial
