Friends of River Hospital’s Annual Polar Bear Dip
Each February, brave people jump into the icy cold waters of the St. Lawrence River to raise money for River Hospital Foundation. This February was no different. Friends of River Hospital celebrated their 19th successful Polar Bear Dip. This year $40,000 was donated to the River Hospital Foundation to assist in the purchase of new digital equipment.
Friends of River Hospital was instrumental in raising money for our new Adult Day Care Bus named appropriately The Polar Bear Express. The money raised for the new Adult Day Care Bus was from the Polar Bear Dip and from the sale of the St. Lawrence Riveropoly game.
* “A Day with a Fishing Guide”
This year, 2009, marks the sixth annual Day with the Fishing Guides.
Each year fishing guides donate their boats, time and expertise for this fun filled event. Men, women and children come from all areas to enjoy this day. The River Hospital Foundation provides a cap to each one of the participants and captains. Following a great day of fishing all boats head toward the Rift Camp courtesy of the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority for a shore dinner.
